Web Site Terms and conditions

These terms and conditions govern your use of our websites and by using our sites you are agreeing to them. If you do not agree to these terms please leave immediately. These terms and conditions will continue to apply if you register with the Computing Solutions Limited (CSL) website. We may revise these terms and conditions at any time and so you should check here regularly. Your continued use of the website after any change has been made is your acceptance of the change. Should you register with the website then we will email you to inform you of these changes.

1. What you should know about the information we provide

This information is provided free of charge and is intended to be helpful to a wide range of organisations. Because of its general nature the information cannot be taken as comprehensive and should not be used as a substitute for professional advice. We do not guarantee that the information applies to the individual circumstances of your organisation. Despite our best efforts it is possible that some information may be out of date. As a result: CSL cannot take any responsibility for the consequences of errors or omissions. You should always follow the links to more detailed information from any relevant links. Any reliance you place on our information or that linked to on other websites will be at your own risk. CSL as the web site operators, their agents and employees, are not liable for any losses or damages arising from your use of our websites, other than in respect of death or personal injury caused by their negligence or in respect of fraud.

2. What you should know about the other sites we link to

Links will lead to other websites. Although checked regularly, they are not under our control. We are not responsible for the content of any linked website and cannot take responsibility for the consequences of your using the information or services on linked websites. We cannot guarantee that these links will work all the time.  A link to a third-party website does not imply endorsement. Use your own business judgement to decide whether the information or service on that website is suitable for your needs. If a website is not linked to, this does not mean or imply that it is unsatisfactory. The linked websites are regularly reviewed in the light of customer usage and feedback.

3. What you should know about transactions with us

These are the terms and conditions specific to any transactions with us: You are responsible for keeping your security details private.  You should read our Privacy Policy to see how we will use and take care of your data If you carry out transactions from outside the UK, you are responsible for ensuring your use conforms to your national laws. If we take payment for a transaction, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the transaction. Our liability may also be further constrained by the software licence applicable to the product We cannot guarantee the availability of any particular service or product. We may change a service or product without warning and we may stop offering a service or product at any time. The prices charged for our products and services may be changed without notice, and will reflect changes in currency exchange rates on a daily basis. We reserve the right to exclude a particular user from a service, and/or delete their details, if they abuse it (which could include, but is not limited to, hacking, submission of obscenities, fraud or the spreading of computer viruses). If we present you with a set of terms and conditions specific to a particular product or service, they override these general terms and conditions. No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed as totally secure. While we strive to protect such information, we do not warrant and cannot ensure the security of any information which you transmit to us. Accordingly, any information which you transmit to us is transmitted at your own risk. CSL will not see or store your payment card details. The payment processing is subcontracted to a service called Streamline supplied by the Royal Bank of Scotland. All that CSL will be told is that the payment has been successful or not. All prices are displayed in your selected currency without any VAT (Value Added Tax). VAT will be added to every invoice unless,  a)the delivery point is outside the European VAT area or b)the delivery point is outside the United Kingdom but within the European VAT area and you supply us a VAT registration number for the country of delivery. If the invoice is liable to VAT and the currency is not GBP, the VAT will be shown in your currency and in GBP.

4. Virus protection

We make every effort to check and test our websites during production. However, we would advise you to run an anti-virus program on anything you download from the internet. We accept no liability for any loss, disruption or damage to your computer system or your data caused by using this website or arising as a result of having used the website.

5. Applicable law

This website and the use of it is governed by English law and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes connected to our websites.

Who is the data controller for this website?

The data controller for this website is Computing Solutions Limited, 10 St Andrews Road, Droitwich, Worcestershire, United Kingdom WR9 8DN.

What information do we collect and how do we use it?

Depending on which website facilities you use, we collect five different types of information. The types of information and uses are explained below. If you are a registered user, we may use information from the five types to offer personalised information when you use the website, notify you of changes to our products and services, ask your opinions and to help us improve our service to you.

1. Information that you provide to us

We collect and process information that you provide for specific purposes. This may include demographic information such as your name, email addresses, mailing address and telephone numbers. We use the information to provide you with the specific information, product or services that you request from us and to communicate with you. If you contact us we may keep a record of that correspondence. Should you choose to purchase from CSL, the payment by card will be processed by ‘Streamline’, a service managed by the Royal Bank of Scotland. We will supply ‘Streamline’ with your card Name and address and the value and currency of the purchase. Only the Streamline site will see your card details, and we will only receive back from Streamline a payment success or failure code. You may be asked to provide information about yourself when you use certain site facilities, including the following: 'Email this page' - the email address you type is not retained by us. 'Feedback' - your email address is forwarded to the relevant contact along with your feedback and is not retained on the website. 'Contact us' - you will be asked for contact information if you request a call from a local support organisation. This information is passed to the chosen organisation. 'Registration’ - when you register, we will create a User ID and password within the Linkway Portal, which is run by CSL. Your name, User ID, password, email address and contact details will be stored on the portal. Your personal details storage area is called 'My Details' and you can change this stored information at any time by logging in and entering ‘My Details’. Should you download software or purchase products or services, the log of your transactions and copies of invoices will be stored and available for you and us to view. Your email address will be used to advise you of a successful enrolment and your initial password will be emailed to that address. When you register with our site, we may ask whether you would like to be added to our mailing list, so that we can tell you about our products and services. Transactional services - when you perform an online transaction through this site, we will, with your permission, send the data you need (including licence keys) and appropriate invoices to your email address. To give a legally correct audit trail, we will store the data for a minimum of seven years.

2. Website usage information

We receive and store certain information whenever you interact with us. We collect website usage information from a number of sources: Our web server. URLs passed to us when you enter our site. 'Tags' placed in web pages that send information to us or our processors. Some tags run a small piece of javascript on your machine (see below for more on javascript). Some information entered by you on forms on the website. In web usage information where information is entered by a user who has not logged in, truncated postcodes (excluding the last two characters) and telephone area codes may be used to measure regional demographics, but are not traceable back to you. A selection of internet service providers. A selection of search engine companies. IP addresses. Cookies. We collect web usage information during your visits to our site including information on the date, time, page viewed or searched for, products ordered, guides printed, tools used, subscriptions and referrals made and other information relating to your browsing activity on our website. Where you are a registered user of our website and have logged in, we may collect web usage information to enable us to build a demographic profile. We may also use web usage information to create statistical data regarding the use of our website. We may then use or disclose that statistical data to others for marketing and strategic development purposes, but no individuals will be identified in such statistical data. We collect web usage information to help us:          
assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns          
develop and deliver services and information that better meet your needs          
inform you of events, services and products which we believe to be relevant to you where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes

3. IP Addresses

We use IP addresses to analyse trends, track users' movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use and to understand the number of licences issued by IP address.  

4. Cookies

Cookies are small files that are often created when you visit a website, and which are stored in the cookie directory of your computer. A cookie often includes an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies do not damage your computer. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but to protect your privacy your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. You do not have to accept cookies. You can decide if you want to accept cookies by changing the settings on your browser to either accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Switching off cookies will still allow you to view the majority of content on our site, although it may restrict your use of our interactive tools. There are two types of cookie. Persistent cookies remain on your computer for a specified time. We use persistent cookies to: identify that a registered user has returned collect information for use as described above. Session-specific cookies are deleted when you leave the website. We use session-specific cookies to: hold the information given while using an interactive tool on the website hold your details when you are logged into the site hold your search criteria while you are carrying out a search of the website collect information for use as described above

5. Javascript

We use javascript, a simple web scripting language, for interaction with users. We also employ it to collect web usage information for the purposes described above.

Disclosure of information

We may disclose information to government bodies and law enforcement agencies for their enforcement purposes where we are bound by English law so to do. We may also disclose information provided by you to other third parties where this is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy. We will only disclose information about you to others where the law allows. We will not sell, rent or disclose your information to any third parties other than those set out in this privacy policy without your consent. We do not transfer your personal information outside of the European Economic Area.

Linking to other websites

This website contains links to many websites. Anonymous visit or session information may be passed to other websites for the web usage information purposes described above. None of this information can be related to an individual user of the website. The operators of other sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their own data protection policy. This privacy policy applies only to our websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices within any other websites. You should always be aware of this when you leave this website and we encourage you to read the privacy statement on any other website that you visit.

Security

We use leading technologies and security measures to safeguard your information and keep strict security standards to prevent any unauthorised access to it. Our registration system makes use of the CSL Portal. We use industry-standard SSL encryption software when processing sensitive information such as usernames and passwords.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy will change from time to time as we develop the range of services on the website. When this privacy policy changes, we will place an updated version on this page and where appropriate we will give you the opportunity to review the revised privacy policy and ask you to agree to it. Regularly reviewing this page ensures that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we will share it with other parties. You should continue to check the privacy policy before using this site, even if you have visited it in the past. This ensures that you will be aware of any changes. If you are registered on our website, we will notify you of a change to this policy at your recorded email address.

Your rights

If your use of this site falls under the Data Protection Act as a personal user, you have a right to request a copy of any information held about you. If you wish to do this, please contact us, explaining that your interest is to review your personal information. We will need to receive appropriate identification that proves you are the correct person to request the information, and we reserve the right to charge a fee (currently £25 GBP) for that search. Subsequent to such a search, except where the law obliges us to keep your data, we will upon request from you ensure that your data is purged from the servers managed by CSL.
